Death metal that reminds me of Chuck Schuldiner’s Death in that legendary band’s more intricate and adventurous phases of existence. It’s unmistakably savage and capably skull-busting, but it also takes some interesting twists and turns, from the start-stop episodes at the outset to episodes of ravaging mayhem and galloping passages loaded with ebullient fretwork. The time signatures change on a dime, repeatedly, as do the drum patterns. And the bestial vocals do a good job matching up with all the crazy things happening in the instrumental music.

The third album from the "Motörhead of the 21st century". While not being a concept album, The Blackest Movie will take you through a full-length film where apocalyptic sequences and dark but realistic pictures query us about the future of our planet and the way it is going on now. This album mingles stoner riffs along with machine and voice samples in a modernized vintage sound, as if the 70's Hard Rock was revisited with a colder and more agressive mix. Some songs do have a Heavy Metal sound, such as "The Gods' Failure", "The End is On", "Sweet Time for a Crime", but there are also Blues Rock, Doom and Progressive influences in some of them, like "The Blackest Movie", "Prime Cut", "Hellone" or "Blood Red Blues".If you like Motörhead, Black Sabbath, Type O Negative or Coroner, this album was made for you.
